We recently spoke with Chloe from Shire House Farm and asked her a few questions about her range of botanicals and what inspired her to start her journey.
How did Shire House Farm come about?
Shire House Farm grew from a shared desire to live more sustainably and work more closely with the land. As a family, we’ve built a small-scale business creating natural culinary and self-care products from the plants we grow organically. We work in small batches, valuing quality over quantity, and everything is made by hand right here on the farm.
What’s your go-to recommendation for visitors to Geelong and the Bellarine?
Jumping on the Port Phillip Ferry is a great way to get to the Bellarine. Once here, Santa Casa beach is a beautiful stretch with clean ocean waves, and the Queenscliff marina to see the giant rays.
How do you fill your cup in your spare time?
We are lucky that the farm is a great mix of work and pleasure – the ultimate hobby. On the rare occasion we have some downtime, it has to be reading on the beach or a dip in the sea. We also like trying new foods and drinks from across the Bellarine – spoilt for choice!
What’s your favourite product from your range at the moment?
Rosemary salt, it is a great kitchen staple as it goes with everything and smells amazing. Personal favourite is on poached eggs – life changing.
How can our guests buy your products?
Our products can be purchased via our website or at the Bellarine Farmgate on weekends. For more stockists, have a look on our website on the ‘Contact & Stockists’ tab.
